If you knew how to be successful
I have never met anyone that does not want to succeed in life. Regardless of who you are, what you do, your goals, or life’s mission, success is part of your daily cravings. Even animals seek out success in their daily strive for food, dominance, and mate. Success is an attractive idea but what length are you willing to go to make it a reality? It is important you know that your success lies in your hands. In fact, the difference between wanting to be successful and actually becoming successful is knowing what to do and doing it right. Hence, you have to make conscious efforts and take uneasy steps in order to achieve those feats you have always dreamt about.
Have you ever asked yourself, “What is stopping me from being successful?” if you have, what answers did you come up with and what have you done so far to change things? What if I told you that there are more internal than external factors hindering you from becoming successful? I believe you must have heard the saying that “you are what you do, not what you say you will do”. Well, there’s no lie in the saying because the more you consciously channel the right energy and efforts into the right activities, the greater your chance of becoming successful.
What then are some of the things stopping you from becoming successful?
Procrastination– if you must become successful, then saving your work for another day isn’t an option. Procrastination is a habit built over time. There is never the best time to get things done than now because you don’t know what events might pop up later and hinder you from getting them done.
Fear- this is one of the biggest enemies of success and the funniest thing is that it is an illusion of the mind that makes you doubt your capacity and ability. Most times, it is not that you don’t know what to do, but the fear of failure, as well as the unknown, is stopping you from taking the right steps. Let go of the ‘what ifs’ and take a bold step in the right direction. It’s okay to start all over again if you fail because you can’t get it right if you don’t try and even if you are given a thousand reasons why it wouldn’t work out for you, it’s your duty to find reasons why it would.
Distractions– this can easily creep in especially if you lack focus or vision. The TV, the internet, your friends, etc can all be forms of distractions. Until you have a plan for yourself and a goal that will motivate you to get up every day and do your best even when you don’t feel like, success might not be in view for you.
Lack of persistence– if you continue to give up every time you are faced with difficulties, how do you intend to be successful? The road to success isn’t a smooth one neither is the journey easy. What makes success more interesting when achieved is the fact that you were able to overcome all the hurdles and hitches you were faced with. If you need to take a break, then do so but giving up shouldn’t be an option for you.
Remember, not everyone’s definition of success will work for you. You have to find out what success is to you and work at your own pace to achieve it. Now that you know some of the things that are stopping you from being successful, what’s the plan?
Remember Success Is Getting Up One More Time Then You Fell Down!
